Generac Generators

A power outage can make you feel like life is on hold and often leads to added stress.

A home standby generator is the perfect back-up plan for your home. The main purpose of a home or commercial standby generator is to provide electricity to your home when the electricity from your local utility is off. A Generac home standby generator will ensure you have power when you need it. A generator can be an expensive proposition. If you are looking for financing options Roberts Electrical offers 100% financing with easy payment plans.

Generac is the top selling generator brand in North America. As the makers of the OHVI engine Generac has some the most powerful and longest lasting backup generators available. Choosing a qualified generator installer is more involved than simply comparing quotes. While many qualified electricians are experts at wiring homes or troubleshooting a problem circuit, not every electrician has experience installing a standby generator system. Be sure to always ask any would-be installer about their experience installing a standby generator.

If given a choice between an Electrician and a certified Generac Electrical Contractor with good experience installing standby generators the decision should be easy.

Your best chance of having a generator installed correctly comes from a factory-authorized dealer. Give Roberts Electrical a call for a no-obligation quote. Roberts Electrical installs more generators than any other dealer in the Sudbury area!

Champion Generators

Champion Home Standby Generator System includes 14kW aXis Home Standby Generator and 200A aXis ATS Whole House Automatic Transfer Switch.

This generator never needs refueling operating on your home’s NG or LP fuel supply, starts automatically when utility power goes out, and turns off automatically when utility power is restored. The battery keeps a charge and operates in temperatures ranging from -22° to 104° F.

The Champion aXis platform is a programmable, upgradable home standby system. The digital aXis Controller™ is equipped to provide continuous protection for the HSB. Power Line Carrier technology allows the system to communicate using your home’s existing wiring so your generator can talk to the automatic transfer switch and other components without needing to run separate wires, saving you money and time. With aXis Wi-Fi Direct your installer can use a tablet or phone to program your generator meaning faster setup and lower cost.

This automatic Whole House transfer switch backs up your home’s 200-amp distribution panel and manages your high-demand appliances using our aXis Load Management Modules. Choose from four priority levels for each appliance from “must haves” to “nice to haves.” Multiple devices can share the same priority allowing for an unlimited number of loads that can be managed. If your generator nears capacity, high-demand appliances are automatically turned off according to their priority level to avoid overload. Load Management Modules also use Power Line Carrier technology simplifying installation.

Featuring a NEMA 3R Service Entry rated enclosure, this switch may be installed indoors or outdoors and is ETL listed to comply with CSA standards for Canada.

Buy with confidence – Champion Support and our nationwide network of service centers will back your purchase up with FREE lifetime technical support, a 10-year limited warranty on the generator and a 2-year limited warranty on the ATS.

Surge Protection

Without proper house surge protection electrical spikes can damage electrical devices that are plugged into your electrical system. Even more catastrophic surges can occur if lightning strikes a power line near your home. Whole house surge protection is a must in this day and age to prevent damage to your home’s electrical devices. Roberts Electrical can install a whole home surge suppressor in your home and give you the peace of mind that you deserve today!

Common reasons for power surges in the home are:

  • Lightning strike of a power line

  • Power lines that have been downed

  • Local industrial electrical demands

  • On/off cycling of home appliances such as refrigerators and HVAC

Damages from a lightning strike can cost you thousands of dollars in damage to your electrical equipment. A surge from outside your home can travel on any wire that leads into your home. This means an electrical wire, a TV/internet cable and even your telephone line. For large surges caused by lightning, a whole house surge protector is needed to curtail the electrical overload from ever reaching your internal home wiring system.

Roberts Electrical can help you protect your home and provide professional installation services.

Surges occur more commonly from cycling devices in your home, or downed power lines. Each time you’re HVAC or refrigerator turns on, a surge or spike of electricity runs through the individual wiring circuit in your home. These recurring surges, over time, can harm other devices that are on the same circuit until one day your television or microwave simply doesn’t work anymore.

Power strips with surge protection are the second line of defense against internal power surges in your home. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that your home is protected just because you have your equipment plugged into a power strip. Important criteria for power strips have to be met to provide your electronic devices with adequate protection. If these standards are not present, the power strips are no better than plugging a piece of equipment into an unprotected wall socket.

Protect your home from the possibility of a whole house surge and from the normal surges caused by common electrical appliances. Roberts Electrical in Sudbury has the experience, knowledge and training to help you get the best protection for a reasonable price. Please call us for a consultation and installation appointment; it’s our pleasure to provide you with prompt quality service in greater Sudbury and the surrounding areas
